MAJOR BUG FOUND IN KODI 18 (ANDROID 32bit)

Post by kerikhaos » Mon Feb 18, 2019 8:44 pm

Hi everyone,

We have found in our testings that there is a major bug with KODI developement platform on 32bit android systems.

The bug has something to do with the extraction of zip files during the restore process of our builds.

This has only been found on android versions of kodi v18 which are 32bit and does not exist on any other kodi platform.

When you try to restore from our build via the wizard or from a general backup archive kodi throws an error and does not allow the process to execute. Instead it quits and does nothing. We are trying to work on a fix but apparently it has something to with a bug in the android SDK and architecture.

Once we have more news we will let you know but unfortunately right now the only way to get kodi builds on android 32bit versions running v18 is to copy and paste the entire extracted kodi directory in the kodi folder directly on the android system.

very annoying but unless a fix is released we arent going to see this problem go away as the kodi developers are struggling also with this bug.

If anyone has any additional light on this matter then please let us know or share on our forum.

Thanks

Bug has been fixed via VECTORDROIDs new AIO Wizard (ALL IN ONE - because it can be used to install offline builds as well as download them directly from our build repo)

It took us a while to fix this because it was delaying our customers on the new KODI 18 build we released a few weeks back. Now you can use this new wizard (which is found at our repo address http://vectordroid.com/repo and called plugin.program.vectorwizard-1.0.zip)

This is our solution to you all to get working with the new KODI 18 BUILD which works like a dream and has all the latest addons and configurations built in.

Any problems please let us know.

KODI doesnt seem to be able to fix the zip decompression issue (reported only with android v7 32bit operating systems) but this is where most of the user base is hence why it was such a big problem.

You may now jump to 18 with the help of our new addon.

Thanks for your patience and support
