Firmware for "HD18 V2.22" and "A12 V1.1"

Post by capit030 » Tue Jan 03, 2017 1:49 pm

Hi,

a friend give me a old android TV box with "HD18 V2.22" and "A12 V1.1" inscriptions (see images).

After long long Google search, I found your forum that's very good. I think that this box is bricked (blue LED & black screen).

I've tried many MX2 firmware but they doesn't work. I think that my box is not an MX2 because all MX2 have the label "A13" and not "A12", I'm right ?

So I'm looking for firmware and u-boot.bin for this

Can you please help me ?

(Sorry if something is not clear, I'm a Linux/Android/TV box noob)

Also, I'm trying to do a UART connection. I'm comfortable with UART but I can't have a signal from the box... Is the baudrate 115200 ? Are my connections right (see 2nd image)?

Hi

Blue lights and red lights don't actually mean much when box is bricked. We have seen many times blue lights in boxes which are hard bricked due to a bad motherboard and some times a red brick which comes back k to life.

Your box from the images looks genuine but send me your mac address so I can cross check genuine factory of origin.

Baud are us correct.

Looks genuine to me.

So this box was working perfectly before you attempted the firmware upgrade correct?

Which matricom firmware did you try to flash and which firmware did you have on there before you attempted the flash?

Have same pcb. SINGLE CORE PROCESSOR, 1gb ram, 4gb storage..

Current system: Linux 2.6.34 #1 Thu Feb 7 09:42:30 UTC 2013 ARMV7l
XBMC 12.0 Git-20130201-8204601 (Compiled: Feb 1 2013)
Name on box: IPTV 18 Smart TV BOX, Revision 2.2
Info under hardware section reads: CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 4 (v7l)
Hardware: AMLOGIC MESON3 8726M SKT SH
REVISION: 0020

Box currently is working but needing an upgrade.
Wondered if perhaps the MX2 firmware is for a Dual core?
Hope this may help someone...

Single core processor usually means its the standard MX board. Not the MX2. The MX2 was released with a dual core amlogic processor. This means your one pre-dates the MX2 so we are talking the very first MX series motherboard.

Problem with these boards is they are so old and developers are now non existant for supporting these boards support will be hard to find. Even the old links which allowed downloads to firmwares are now non working so its even impossible to find a download to try reflash your box with an MX firmware versions
